The gold hallmark is a mark applied by the jeweler when creating a piece of gold jewelry, or by the manufacturer of gold coins when creating them. Its presence on these gold objects is mandatory, as it is thanks to this gold hallmark that the future buyer will be able to know the carat number.
The carat is used to measure the purity of the metal in the gold coin or jewel. For example, 99.99% pure gold is 24-carat gold. It's thanks to the gold hallmark that it will be possible to give a monetary value to the object, since it provides the carat number.
