Selling a silver ingot, at the right time of day

Ingots and bars, all brands of refiner, with or without blister pack.

The purchase price of a silver ingot is determined by three factors: its weight, its purity, and the current market price. Weighing is done in your presence, the calculation is provided in writing, and the estimate is free and without obligation.

How much is your silver ingot worth?

The weight of fine silver, multiplied by the current market price.

An investment silver ingot is minted at a title known — most often 999‰ or 999,9‰ — and its weight is inscribed on the bar. The valuation is therefore direct: weight of pure silver multiplied by the money course recorded on the same day.

We buy back gold bars and ingots of all the brands of affineur — Valcambi, Umicore, Heraeus, Argor-Heraeus, Metalor, PAMP and others — with or without blister packwith or without certificate. An intact blister pack makes it easier to read the serial number and the title; its absence does not prevent the purchase, the ingot is then weighed and its title declared in front of you.

How does the appointment go?

Simple, transparent, no commitment. You decide at the end.

1

Ingot control

The refiner's brand, title, weight, and serial number are recorded. Whether it's a sealed blister pack or a bare bar, the inspection is carried out in your presence.

2

Weighing and calculation

The ingot is weighed in front of you, the weight of fine silver is established, then multiplied by the silver price of the day.

3

Offer submitted in writing

You receive a written breakdown of the calculation — net weight, purity, and applied price. You can then sell, or leave with your ingot.

Buy a silver ingot

This page primarily deals with buybacks, but the same team will assist you with purchases. A silver ingot is bought based on three lines, which we provide separately: the value of the precious metal at the current market price, the manufacturing premium, and the VAT.

The bounty It covers refining, packaging and certification. On silver, whose price per gram is low, it weighs proportionally more heavily than on gold, and even more so the smaller the format.

VAT This point requires clarification. Silver bars and ingots are subject to VAT at the standard rate of 20%. Legal tender silver investment coins, on the other hand, fall under the VAT margin scheme stipulated in Article 297 A of the French General Tax Code, where the tax is levied on the seller's margin and not on the total price. Unlike investment gold, silver is never exempt from VAT. This is general information and does not replace the advice of your financial advisor.

Payment is made by bank transfer or card. You will receive a personalized invoice: please keep it, as it determines your tax options upon resale.

F.A.Q

Selling a silver ingot, plainly

Who is GOLDMARKET?
A French family business founded in 2016, headquartered at 102 Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris, with branches in France and Belgium. Our core business is precious metals trading: buying, selling, and investing. Our experts provide free appraisals of your jewelry, ingots, and coins at the current market price, and the appraisal is always provided in writing.
How is the price of my silver ingot calculated?
The weight of pure silver multiplied by the current silver price. The weight is that inscribed on the bar, verified by weighing in your presence, and the fineness is that stamped by the refiner—most often 999‰ or 999,9‰. The calculation is provided to you in writing.
Does the blister pack need to be intact?
No. A sealed blister pack makes it easier to read the serial number and the title, but a gold bar removed from its blister pack is bought back in the same way: it is weighed and its title is recorded in front of you.
Are you buying up all the cheese refiner brands?
Yes: Valcambi, Umicore, Heraeus, Argor-Heraeus, Metalor, PAMP, and others. What matters is the weight of pure silver, not the brand. A bar without a refiner's hallmark or indicated fineness is simply fineened before valuation.
Do I need the certificate or the test report?
It's not mandatory. The certificate provides reassurance and speeds up the check, but its absence doesn't prevent the purchase. However, you must bring a valid form of identification, as the transaction is regulated.
What taxes apply to the sale of a silver ingot?
By default, the flat rate tax On precious metals: 11% + 0,5% CRDS, calculated on the sale price. If you have the invoice, you can opt for the regime of the real added valuewith a 5% annual reduction after the second year of ownership. General information, not personalized tax advice.
Is the estimate really free?
Yes, the estimate is free and without obligation. It is carried out at the current market price and the calculation — net weight, titer, applied price — is provided to you in writing, whether you sell or not.
